Favorite Piece Of Work I Read In A Book

This poem is from the series The Mayfair Witches which was written by Anne Rice

One will rise who is too evil.
One will rise who is too good.
Twixt the two a witch shall falter and therby open wide the door.
Pain and suffering as they stumble Blood and fear before they learn.
Woe betide this Springtime Eden
Now the vale of those who mourn.
Beware the watchers in that hour bar the doctors from the house
Scholars will but nourish evil Scientists would raise it high.
Let the devil speak his story
Let him rouse the angels might
Make the dead come back to witness
Put the alchemist to flight.
Slay the flesh that is not human
Trust to weapons crude and cruel For, dying on the verge of wisdom,
Tortured souls may seek the light.
Crush the babes who are not children
Show no mercy to the pure
Else shall Eden have no Springtime.
Else shall our kind reign no more.

  • Damned Souls

    Damned Souls

Damned Souls captures love as both solace and torment, where time itself becomes the pulse of longing. Through haunting rhythms and tender imagery, the poem binds two souls in passion, darkness, and eternal memory—a love story etched in stars, shadows, and the unyielding tick of the clock.

  • Shards of the Heart

    Shards of the Heart

David White’s Pieces and Kiana Jimenez’s Blind Love merge into a meditation on heartbreak, resilience, and the desire to mend what has been broken. Vibrant fragments echo the poem’s shards of love, showing that even in pain, there remains the drive to rebuild, reassemble, and create new wholeness.

  • Black Rose

    Black Rose

A solitary black rose stands alone in a garden of colors, beautiful yet feared, unwanted yet unbroken. Its dark petals whisper of isolation, strength, and the longing for connection. When someone finally dares to embrace its uniqueness, two lonely souls find solace in each other’s presence.
